Dr. Bright's scholarly work is focused in the areas of professional standards of practice, interprofessional education and collaborative practice, and educational standards. In addition to two peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Bright has over 40 professional and invited presentations at local, regional, national, and international conferences.

Leadership & Professional Service

Dr. Brights leadership and professional involvement include service in several roles. These include co-chairs of both the Standards of Practice (SOP) and Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPECP) committees, committee membership on both the Higher Education Committee and the Peg Connolly Scholarship review committee. Additionally, Dr. Bright serves as an Associate Editor for the ATRA Annual and served on the planning committee for the Annual ATRA conference in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Bright also leads a community group for survivors of brain injury and their loved ones. Providing social and recreational opportunities for group members and service-learning opportunities for RT students.

Professional Awards & Recognition

Dr. Bright was awarded ATRA Member of the Year in 2024 and has been nominated three times for SRU's President's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
