Scholarly Contributions

Dr. Archambault's scholarly activity is concentrated in these areas: (1) ageism and gerontology competencies in recreational therapy, (2) standards of practice and professional development, (3) interprofessional education and collaborative practice, (4) inclusive recreation and adapted sports, and (5) leisure education for individuals with disabilities. She has numerous peer-reviewed publications and has completed over 100 professional presentations, keynote speeches, and workshops. Dr. Archambault is the founder and co-coordinator of the Institute for Adapted Sports and Recreation at Southern Connecticut State University, which has brought dozens of adapted sporting events to the campus community and beyond as well as recreational therapy to individuals with disabilities living in the community.

Leadership & Professional Service

Dr. Archambault's leadership and professional association involvement have included service as Co-Chair of ATRA's Standards of Practice Committee, Co-Chair of ATRA's IPECP Task Force, Co-Chair of the TR Section of CRPA, and numerous involvements at the state and national levels. Dr. Archambault has served as a Site Visitor for COAPRT accreditation, TR External Program Reviewer for several institutions, and served on dissertation committees. She serves on multiple advisory boards, including the CT Collaborative to End Loneliness and the Center of Excellence on Autism Spectrum Disorders.
